This full day pastel pencil workshop with Emily Rose Fine Art will take you through how to create a realistic robin portrait.
This festive day course is open to people of all abilities and runs at a relaxed pace. You will be taught with step by step demos with one on one help throughout the day so that all abilities receive the tuition they need.
We will look at how to create underpaintings, so you can start your own projects, and how to use colours to create interesting subjects. By the end of the day you will feel confident in this new medium and have a whole new range of artistic skills. Outline will be provided so don't be worried if you 'cannot draw'. All of Emily's courses are appropriate for beginners to people with more experience as you will receive plenty of 1:1 help.
Pastel pencils are often used for wildlife paintings as they have a naturally soft texture that can perfectly mimic feathers. We will look at value to create convincing 3D forms, as well as, colour temperature and edge management to achieve a professional finish.
We will start with a tonal underpainting that will serve as a base for the realistic details over the top. You'll learn how to layer this medium to create depth and textures that appear good enough to touch! You'll be taught with step by step demonstrations and plenty of one-to-one help throughout the day.
