About this event

This one-day class is the perfect fit for you if you have just started out, or have never done any patchwork or quilting before.

We will teach you:

  • How to thread your machine, top and bottom.
  • How to balance your tensions.
  • How to choose an appropriate stitch
  • Patchwork techniques
  • How to use wadding
  • Simple quilting techniques
  • How to sew on a binding


You will feel comfortable using a machine so that together we can make a tablemat using patchwork techniques, by the end of the class.


This class is designed to help you gain the confidence you need to continue your sewing journey once you get home. Learning some of the basic rules of sewing will give you the best start to help you flourish in your new hobby.


Supplied: Fabric, Binding, Wadding, Machines, Scissors, Pins, Tape Measures, Haberdashery, Tea and Coffee.

Required: Lunch.
