About this event

THIS IS A 3 WEEK COURSE STARTING MONDAY OCTOBER 6TH UNTIL 2OTH OCTOBER

Join Local Artist Dawn Smallwood to learn how to create autumn themed photo collages and mixed media using your phone camera and a variety of art mediums.

You will start Week 1 by participating in a mindful outdoor Photography walk to take digital photographs of the local scenery and objects and embrace Autumn. You can either use your phone camera, another digital camera you may have or you can borrow one of our ipads.

You will then be introduced to creating digital photo collages using double exposure, composition and filters on an app.

In the following weeks you will begin to create mixed media pieces using your photograph collages and be guided through using a variety of art mediums and upcycled materials.

Dawn will be sharing invaluable tips throughout including colour theory that can used for collage and mixed media art and you will leave with finished collages to take home with you.

All materials are included and you will leave with your completed collages and all the skills and confidence to carry on creating at home.

The course is suitable for complete beginners or those wanting to refresh their skills.

Hot drinks and biscuits are included.

To ensure this Beginners Photo Collage Course is accessible to everyone we have made it Pay What You Can for the 3 week Course. We have suggested £30 to help cover costs but if this is not affordable for you then please input what you can. (When booking, please add a donation of however much you can afford for the 4-week course). Any donation is welcome. If you have any questions about bookings, please contact us by email on jen@stitch-up.org.uk or pop into the Stitch-Up Studio.

Stitch-Up CIC is a social enterprise and any profits we make are reinvested straight back into delivering our creative community projects supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Leeds to learn new skills and improve wellbeing.
