About this event

This is a blended learning course that requires you to complete the theory aspects of the training online prior to attending the face to face course to complete the practical elements.

Learning hours:

  • Pre-course online theory work: 8-10 hours
  • Completion of pre-course assessment: 4-6 hours
  • Face-to-face course duration: 2 days, 9am-5pm

Pre-Requisites: Pole Fitness experience - minimum of 12 months, approximately 50-100 practice hours (e.g. attending classes/workshops/shadowing/co-teaching/working with a mentor/lesson observations). Introductory knowledge of anatomy and physiology and first aid is also recommended but not required to attend the course.

Pre-Course Online Theory: You will be required to complete the theory section of this course on our online learning platform prior to attending your face to face course date. The theory will cover warm ups and cool downs, teaching and coaching, class planning, choreography, strength and conditioning, health and safety along with an introduction to studio management.

Face to Face Training: At your face to face course, your tutor will cover all of the moves in our Beginners Pole Syllabus. You will be taught how to break down each move, then teach it effectively including regressions, progressions, modifications and spotting technique. We will also cover how you can combine these moves into combinations and sequences to challenge your students.

Assessment: This course is assessed in two stages; stage 1 will be your 'theory' assessment, stage 2 will be your 'practical' assessment. Stage 1; when completing your online theory work you will be asked to complete a series of multiple choice questions. Stage 2; at your face to face course you will be asked to teach a warm up, teach and spot three moves from your course to your fellow course attendees. demonstrate a combination of moves from the course and teach a cool down.
