This friendly and supportive course is perfect for complete beginners ready to discover the joy of working with clay. Over 10 weeks, you’ll learn a range of hand-building techniques — including pinching, slab building, coiling, and using moulds.
You’ll explore pattern, texture, and mark-making, and experiment with decorating your pieces using slips, oxides, underglazes, and glazes. Along the way, you’ll learn the basics of glazing to give your work a beautiful finish.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a collection of unique, fully fired pieces to take home and enjoy.
This aims to be a friendly class with support and encouragement from your tutor and your course mates.
No previous experience necessary, just enthusiasm to learn and have a go!
