Beginners Quilting Class: Learn to Quilt with Confidence
Have you been dabbling in patchwork and are now ready to take the next step? Or are you curious about quilting as a creative craft in its own right? This class is the perfect introduction to the basics of quilting, whether or not you’ve done patchwork before.
During the session, you’ll:
- Explore the three main types of quilting: hand quilting, machine quilting, and free motion quilting
- Learn about different types of wadding and backing, and how each affects the final look and feel of your project
- Try out different quilting styles and techniques in a relaxed, hands-on environment
- Discover that quilting doesn’t require patchwork—it’s a technique that can stand alone!
To put your new skills into practice, you’ll finish the day by making a quilt-as-you-go table mat—a great project to reinforce what you’ve learned and take home a completed piece.
Whether you’re looking to build on your patchwork skills or simply start something new, this class will give you a strong foundation in quilting and the confidence to keep going.
