About this event

Join us for our Beginners Sewing workshop with brilliant local artist Bev Rhodes.

Bev is multidisciplinary artist who loves sharing their craft knowledge and helping others find wellbeing through craft and creativity.

Sewing is such a fun and versatile skill to learn and there are so many things that you can make once you've learnt how to use a sewing machine. It is also a great hobby to have to help you relax and look after your everyday wellbeing.

During this workshop you will learn how to use a sewing machine before turning scrappy fabrics or yarn ends into quilted pouches to take home. This is a great way to recycle materials into something beautiful and useful!

It's perfect way to spend your Saturday morning being creative in the surroundings of our lovely studio.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those wanting to refresh their skills.

All materials are included.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are included.

This workshop also makes a great gift, just print off the ticket after purchasing and pop it in a card!

Stitch-Up CIC is a social enterprise and any profits made are reinvested straight back into delivering our creative community projects supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Leeds to learn new skills and improve wellbeing.

We will also be using this time to gain feedback from participants about what creative activities they would like to see going forward at Meanwood Community Centre so all feedback is greatly appreciated.

There is ample parking available at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on the main part of Stainbeck Avenue, with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac.

The Stitch-Up Studio is to the rear of the Community Centre. Once you arrive in reception please follow the signs for Stitch-Up.

You can follow us on Instagram @stitch_up or Facebook on STITCHUPLEEDS to keep up to date with what we are up to or visit our website stitch-up.org.uk.
