In this complete beginner-friendly 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn:- How to handle poi without tangling- Foundational spinning techniques to build your flow- Movement skills that integrate poi into your dance- Stage tips and tricks for confident performance- The essentials for transitioning to spinning with fire (safely, of course!)
!! Please note: There will be no fire at this workshop, but you’ll walk away with everything you need to build towards it confidently and safely.
Who is this for?
No experience is needed! If you’ve never touched poi before or you’ve struggled to learn on your own, this workshop is for you. It’s also perfect for dancers or performers looking to integrate prop work into their routines.
What to bring:
– 2 long socks (knee-high or over-the-knee work great!)
– 2 tennis balls (we’ll be making sock pois!)
– Water bottle
– Your own pois, if you have them!
