This is an introductory woodwork course, the course will aim to give you an idea of the craft of carpentry and the techniques used to create furniture.
The day will be lead by tutor Ed Borastero. Ed is a designer and a maker of traditional furniture, he studied Fine Woodwork at the Building Crafts College in Stratford, and taught woodwork there for a year.
Ed will introduce you to a variety of traditional carpentry techniques and you will be given a set exercise using hand tools and soft wood. Ed will also take you through the steps it takes to create a wooden stool.
If the course leaves you wishing to learn more there will be the option to sign up for a 10 week course in which you will learn to make a wooden stool.
Lunch will be provided on the day in the BloQs Café, it will be a healthy, homemade dish cooked by in-house chef Alex Motta.
