About this event
Welcome to Beginning Breathwork.
Come join us at Archiestown Village Hall for an enlightening session using the power of your breath. Learn how to harness your breath to reduce stress, increase focus, and improve overall well-being. This in-person event will guide you through the various breathing techniques we will use and their benefits. So, whether you're new to breathwork or experienced, this workshop is suitable for all levels. Take a deep breath and embark on a journey to discover the transformative effects of conscious breathing. See you there!
What You Will Experience
This Breathwork is done either lying down or sitting with your eyes closed in a way that is comfortable for you. I will either drum, play music, or there may just be silence, as I then guide you to slowly to move your focus to within. I’ll then guide you through your breathing for up to 40 minutes. Know that you are in control at all times. It is your breath and you remain free to chose how to take your next one. It is safe to stop at any time so you are in complete control.
Each breathwork session is unique to the individual and the environment and circumstances at the time. Just know that your experience will be exactly what you need. There is no right or wrong, good or bad.
It is not possible to predict exactly what you will experience. Breathwork can result in emotional, physical and spiritual experiences. It can also lead to a calming and relaxing state of being during and after the session. I have experienced these personally and witnessed others have the same as part of my healing practices.
I have also experienced waking up from sleep at the end of more than one session.
The subconscious mind is a mind of its own - a bit like when you get out of the car after a routine drive and wonder “I can’t remember getting here?”. You got what you needed; arrived safe and you didn’t have to concentrate. “You” just knew how to do it.
Benefits May Include:
Emotional release and stress relief
Enhanced clarity and focus
Deepened self-awareness
Nervous system regulation
Spiritual insight or awakening
The Breathwork
I will provide a safe space and guide you for about an hour through opportunities for -
Welcome and introduction brief - A chance to share your intention and a bit about yourself. Includes demonstrations of the breathing techniques.
A short Coherent Breathwork to calm the nervous system and to centre yourself,
A short guided meditation to connect to the space, the group and within yourself.
Conscious Connected Breathwork. I will guide you for up to 40 minutes to help you release that which no longer serves you.
Begin the integration of the benefits of your experience right away by:
Incorporating integrating breathwork techniques as part of your session,
Ending the workshop with time to share your experience with the rest of the group and to journal as you feel appropriate.
What is Conscious Connected Breathing?
A powerful breathing practice that can release strong emotions as the subconscious gives up energetic blockages and releases them to the conscious. This is at the heart of my Breathwork practice and is the cause of transformation. Whilst I will create a safe and loving container for this, it is your own personal journey. So, it is imperative for you to check if it's right for you at this time. Ask yourself: Am I able to commit to looking after myself during the session and for the days afterwards? Are my environment, the people I interact with and my life circumstances able to provide comfort and support for my self care needs for the days after the session?
Contraindications
It is NOT recommended that you use the Conscious Connected Breathwork technique if you have extremes of blood pressure, heart problems, had a stroke, aneurysm, recent surgery, abdominal problems, epilepsy, glaucoma or detached retina, a history of psychosis or on medication for mental illness.
An alternative breathing technique will also be offered to anyone who would prefer.
Please message me before the workshop if you have any of these contraindications, or if you have any questions or other concerns.
Is it Spiritual?
I have come to understand that people use the word spiritual for different meanings. Breathwork can lead to powerful, emotional, physical and spiritual experiences. So, yes, it absolutely can be spiritual.
Do I need to be spiritual?
No. An openness to accepting whatever you experience and being kind to yourself to begin integrating whatever this means for you is all you require.
What Makes You Qualified as a Breathwork Facilitator?
Breathwork has been, and will continue to be, an integral part of my own physical, mental and spiritual practices. I have had wisdom shared from teachers and mentors, learned through studying and first hand experiences on my own healing journey. I have completed a 12 month training program of self discovery using the breath. I committed over 400 hours of study which included lectures, regular daily self practices, journalling and reflecting on their effects. I also completed observed case studies of groups and individuals both in person and distant via video link. I am a trained facilitator certified by Breathing Space. I believe breathwork is for everyone. I provide a safe and confidential space where you can explore the transformative power of breathwork.

Session Boundaries and responsibilities – Creating a Safe Space for All
To maintain a respectful and safe space it is imperative the following boundaries are adhered to:
Confidentiality: What is shared in the space stays in the space.
No substance use: Please arrive sober and clear-headed.
Self-responsibility: You are responsible for your own pace and comfort; you can pause at any time.
Refrain from offering advice or giving judgment during group group discussions.
Respect each individual’s process however novel or intense it may appear to you.
Timekeeping is important for the group work. For the benefit of all the sessions will start as advertised. Please arrive at the venue early to make this possible as access to the group will be closed after the intention setting.
Boundaries are held gently but firmly to ensure safety and trust for all participants.
Sensitivity to an intense experience - You are always in control and you have the option to chose at any time — to pause, opt out of any activity, or ask for support for which I will gladly offer.
