This workshop will take place at C4CC from 11am - 4:30pm on Saturday, May 25.
The term soft circuits refers to using flexible materials like conductive thread and fabric to create circuits and sensors - a popular technique for wearable technology. Soft circuits are the junction of crafting and electronics communities.
What will you do and learn?
You will learn basic electronics such as how to build circuits and how to light up an LED, through sewing a soft circuit using conductive thread. You next be taught how to program an ATtiny so that you can create a circuit that incorporates it! This will enable you to tell your LEDs to light up in sequence. The workshop will also teach you how to solder as we'll be using surface mount LEDs.
What do you need to already know?
You don't need to know anything about electronics or coding, but any previous experience with sewing would be useful.
What do you need to bring?
You will need to bring a laptop with the Arduino programming environment installed on it. You can download this from the Arduino website: http://arduino.cc/en/main/software
What will be provided?
All materials and tools will be provided.
Full refund if registration is cancelled over a week before the course start, 50% if within a week of the course start, and no refund if within 24 hours of the course start.
