About this event

Community

Willesden Jewish Cemetery (WJC), established in 1873, will be celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. As a still-active cemetery, it serves as the final resting place for thousands of Jewish families, reflecting the evolution of the Jewish community across London and the impact of Jewish immigration, and is a landmark of Jewish cultural heritage.

As part of the year long celebrations of the anniversary, this walk will tell the story of the establishment of the cemetery, highlighting the early years of the United Synagogue, the people who made it happen and their role in the community.
