Behaviour as communication
Why are some children unsettled in school? We need to understand the pupils to understand their behaviours.
We are aware distressed and distressing behaviours are forms of communication. This session aims to look at some of the reasons why some children may display these behaviours and how we can support them in school.
The needs of each pupil are different and can be dependent on various factors. We look to consider attachment issues, learning styles, consistency of approach, early childhood experiences and some mental health issues as possible reasons for distress.
