This one-day training course will summarise the most important things to get right from the start- and what not to do wrong.

About this Event

Good behaviour is the basis of good learning, safety, wellbeing and flourishing in the classroom. In this one day masterclass, Tom Bennett, lead behaviour advisor to the DfE, shares his experience and techniques gained through his career working with schools throughout the UK and around the world. This packed workshop will summarise the most powerful strategies and habits that teachers (and anyone who works with children) use in order to create calm, safe spaces where children can think, learn and grow, and staff can flourish in their roles.

About Tom Bennett

In 2015 Tom Bennett became the UK government’s school ‘Behaviour Czar’, advising on behaviour policy, as well as chairing the Mental Health in Schools panel, and advising MATs, Ofsted, the DfE, and hundreds of schools and teachers worldwide in policy and practice. He is the author of Creating a Culture, a guide to school leaders on the most effective behaviour strategies, recently referenced by Ofsted in their framework update.

He has written four books about teacher training, and in 2015 he was long listed as one of the world’s top teachers in the GEMS Global Teacher Prize. In the same year he made the Huffington Post’s ‘Top Ten Global Bloggers’ list. He is also the Director of Tom Bennett Training, which works exclusively with the most disadvantaged students and schools in England, helping them to turn around. His online resources have been viewed over 1,200,000 times, and he is a Teacher-Fellow of Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge.

He is also the founder of researchED, a grass-roots organisation that raises research literacy in education and campaigns for better evidence awareness worldwide. It now holds events in five continents and thirteen countries, attracting thousands of followers and generating discussion and change in schools throughout the world. He is also the editor of researchED magazine, with over 15,000 global subscribers.
