Behaviours That Challenge Awareness

Learners will gain an understanding of the elements that bring about behaviours, the different types of behaviour and their causes. Develop skills that promote positive behaviour support and know how to respond to behaviours using proactive strategies.

Course outcome: At the end of the course learners will be able to:

  • Define the term Behaviours that Challenge

  • Understand the elements and factors that can bring about behaviours that challenge

  • Identify and understand legislation, frameworks, policies, procedures and guidelines that relate to Behaviours that challenge.

  • Recognise a variety of behaviours and there impact on others

  • Recognise the distinct levels of behaviours and how to respond appropriately to them

  • Implement proactive strategies

  • Understand how communication and language can influence behaviours

  • Accurate record keeping

  • Understand the importance of equality, diversity, inclusion and the rights of individuals

  • Reflect and evaluate current ways of working.

Assessment: Certificate of attendance will be issued to all learners that have demonstrated that learning has taken place throughout the session and course outcomes have been met. Learners will be required to participate and demonstrate the Course Learnings throughout the session. This will be achieved by verbal questions and answers, Ongoing observation and involvement in group and individual activities.

Course delivery methods: learners will gain the most out of the sessions through a variety of delivery methods that are used including: Power point, individual and group activities, case studies, Scenario’s, DVD clips, Group discussion and research where learners may need internet access to research legislation.
