Event description

Description

I will never finish removing all these faces (Claude Cahun, 1934)

Corrupted Poetry bring you Behind the mask, another mask; capable of being one person displaying several personas, we are all pretenders some of the time. What do artists, writers and poets make of the mask? This evening of poetry art & music explores identity and self in verse, using themes of unheeded beauty, social construction, gender, language and ideas about the second self to communicate the mystery and ritual that helps us transcend the ordinary and negotiate the gap between public and private spaces. With readings from Mary Jean Chan, Rishi Dastidar & Chrissy Williams and poems from Jill Abram, Alice Hiller, Fiona Larkin, L Kiew, Anita Pati, Michelle Penn, Nic Stringer & Jeffrey Sugarman, this is an event of fresh and challenging voices. Work also on display from artists including Sophie Herxheimer and Claire Collison.
