Behind the Scenes at The Attenborough Centre
Join us for mulled wine and mince pies while Creative Director Laura McDermott takes us Behind the Scenes at the newly refurbished Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts. The Grade II* listed building (designed by Coventry Cathedral architect Sir Basil Spence and originally opened as the Gardner Arts Centre in 1969) has recently reopened after a multi-million pound renovation.
Laura and the Attenborough Centre team will take us on a tour of the new flexible auditorium (which can accommodate 350 seated and 500 standing), the backstage areas and some of the state of the art equipment which has been installed. Laura will also speak about the centre's public programme (theatre, film and music) and her vision for its future direction.
Afterwards, there will be a chance to mingle and enjoy your refreshments in the Attenborough Centre's cafe bar - a beautiful space which has been furnished with restored mid-century furniture.
