In this talk, a group of museum professionals will discuss their own career paths and offer advice to those interested to work in the sector.
Professor Steven Parissien is Chief Executive of Palace House: The National Horseracing Museum, Newmarket. He is also Visiting Fellow of Kellogg College, Oxford; Visiting Professor of Architectural History and Visual Culture at Coventry University; and Senior Associate Tutor at the Department of Continuing Education.
Vikki Hawkins is a Curator at the Imperial War Museum, working on their Second World War Galleries, due to open in 2021. She is responsible for content related to the war in Asia and the Pacific, the British Empire, and the British Home Front. In August 2021 she published ‘Displaying Marginalised and “hidden” histories at the Imperial War Museum London: The Second World War gallery regeneration project’, in a special edition of the War and Society journal.
Rebecca Foy is Director of Public Engagement at Bletchley Park. She is responsible for leading the teams that deliver all aspects of Bletchley Park’s engagement with the public. This covers pre-visit marketing and communications, day-to-day visitor operations, education and outreach programmes, through to the delivery of our exhibitions and access to the Collection.

Dr Jonathan Healey is a Fellow of Kellogg College and a social historian and an early modernist, specialising in English history under the Tudors and Stuarts.
