We are pleased to invite you to an alumni event and networking evening in Beijing on Friday 26 January 2024 at the Hilton Beijing Wangfujing from 6.30pm onwards.

How can you take charge of your career and employability in a competitive labour market? How can you best develop your career path? Do you need to upskill and reskill?

Join our expert panel to discuss career recruitment processes and opportunities, top tips for success and insight into the current job market. This session will be facilitated by Leeds University Business School Director of Student Opportunity, Experience and Success, Associate Professor Tao Jiang.

This event will provide you with a valuable opportunity for Leeds University Business School alumni to hear from experts about how they have negotiated the next step in their careers, as well as to ask questions and pick up some tips.

The expert panel will be followed by networking and refreshments, where you will have the opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni in a relaxed environment.

Simona is an experienced HR professional, currently working in the Fintech industry with previous experience at CHANEL.

Calvin Quek (BA Hons. Chinese Studies and Economics 1994)
Senior Manager for Partner Core at Amazon Web Services (AWS) Greater China
Calvin is a technology executive and entrepreneur with over twenty-five years experience. Currently Senior Manager for Partner Core at Amazon Web Services (AWS) Greater China, he leads the development of AWS's partner ecosystem.

Calvin started his China career with the AI/Machine Learning company AsiaWorks as China Sales GM and after that working as a VC investor with Global Catalyst Partners and Venture TDF. After that he ran a consulting business for tech startups including SoundHound AI and then served as CFO/COO at Happylatte (mobile gaming), followed by Chairman/investor of Moka Bros with ten restaurants across major Chinese cities.

Cindy Wang (Graduated from Emlyon Business School)
Lockin Regional Manager

Cindy has participated in a great number of overseas talent recruiting projects of many of the world's top 500 companies and domestic top Internet companies, like FOSUN, Lenovo etc., with rich experience in career educating and project managing. Cindy is familiar with the domestic recruitment process, especially rich experience and an in-depth understanding of the current recruitment requirements and assessment of domestic enterprises for overseas students. Cindy also has experience in career coaching.

Sunny Wang
Head of Hays Beijing Office

Sunny Wang is a Business Director, focusing on recruiting executive/senior level roles and succession plan in Legal, HR, Consumer & Life Sciences. Sunny has been in the recruitment industry for more than 18 years for multinational and domestic clients. She is currently managing Hays Beijing office with more than 40 consultants.
