Being a Chair

Ensuring Robust Relationships

Led by Shirley Otto, MDN in Scotland

(Catering provided)

The connections between the Chair, the Board, the Chief Officer and the organisation are intricate and can be the source of robust functioning or very difficult dynamics. This masterclass will examine the relationships between the Chair and the rest of the organisation to provide examples of good practice.

The outputs and benefits of the masterclass will be:

  • Identification of available resources and good practice guides with discussion about how they apply
  • Discussion stimulated by participant experience in light of recent research
  • Encouraging greater awareness and debate about governance and its significance for the voluntary and community sectors in Scotland
