Event description

**Recording only**

Careers professionals we are understandably expected to have an in-depth knowledge about a diverse range of occupational areas, and the challenges this can pose are well documented (Thambar, 2016). Even when we have specific responsibilities for individual academic departments or industrial sectors we may still be expected to be experts in a huge range of topics. This can unsurprisingly lead to many careers professionals suffering from what is now commonly known as imposter syndrome.

In this webinar we will:

- Considers the common sensation of ‘winging it’ at work and reflect on the impact this may or may not have on our work with students, academic colleagues and employer contacts.
- Identify strategies to counter the effects of imposter syndrome
- Share ideas and ways to more successfully manage it in the future.
