About this event
Roddy is returning to Wytham for another Being for Beginners retreat in the dappled shade of the old oak trees.
Over two days, Roddy facilitates a series of workshops that help you improve your wellbeing in life and work. This is a chance to enjoy a couple of days at Wytham, to grow in understanding and think practically about how to bring greater wellbeing to life.
“I loved the space for reflection and how practices can be integrated into daily life”
Being for Beginners was developed with researchers at the University of Oxford. Roddy leads the series regularly across all the divisions of the University and over 2000 participants have attended the workshops. Feedback and impact data are exceptionally positive:
“a wellbeing game-changer” ... “a truly transformative experience”
Roddy is an Anthropologist who draws upon various disciplines and cultural traditions as he shares broad principles and useful wellbeing practices. He is a natural storyteller with a warm manner, skilled in facilitation, and guarantees personal privacy.
“compassionate, inspiring” … “I loved your manner, your humour, the stories, and allegories”
Most of Roddy's work is done online. This event at Wytham is very special: a unique opportunity to combine the healing powers of the forest with a chance to step back and gain fresh insights. There will be (optional) opportunities to share with other participants in ‘thinking pairs’ and two led-walks in the forest. On Saturday evening there will be a camp fire and marshmallows.
The cost of the course is just £150 for two days, including hot drinks and biscuits.
Each day runs from 9am to 4pm. On the Saturday evening people are welcome to stay on for the evening.
