Description

Being Good in Schools is returning with the focus of ‘Creatively Sharing the Love of Jesus’
Saturday 3rd February 9:30am-4pm at St Mary’s Loughton - (Tea, Coffee and Sandwich Lunch Provided)

Annual Conference hosted by Chelmsford Diocese - focusing on how we as churches can connect with our local schools, in new refreshing and creative ways. The conference is aimed at churches, clergy, children’s workers, youth workers and volunteers. Also, teachers, governors our welcome to come and share their experience of life in schools.

Claire Clinton - Newham SACRE and Faith in Schools -

What is 'SACRE' (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) and how churches can best get involved in helping and supporting our local schools in delivering RE Education.

Rob Stevenette - TLG (Transforming lives for Good)

How can churches mentor children and young people. Simple Tips on how to do this with little resource

Revd. Dr Sharon Prentis - St Mellitus College

How can churches support the local school in becoming a community 'hub.'

Workshops

Workshop 1: Creative Thinking – Combining her gift in printed textiles and as an artist and her experience working in London secondary schools Marlene Wylie will talk about how we can use our creative skills to help support schools Led by Marlene Wylie a creative education consultant & facilitator with a Secondary School Focus.

Workshop 2: Using Sports as a way of sharing Jesus Led by Scripture Union with both Primary & Secondary School Focus)

Workshop 3: Faith in Schools - How do you share your faith in the school environment Led by Newham Faith in Schools with a mainly a Primary School Focus but some transfer into secondary Schools.

Workshop 4: Creatively Telling a Story Led by Revd Ken Wylie of St Andrews Hornchurch (Primary School Focus)

Workshop 5: How do you do assemblies in secondary School’s Led by Mark Tiddy the Bradwell Youth Adviser (Secondary School Focus)
