About this Event

The introduction of the new Education Inspection Framework and new inspection methodology herald significant changes for providers and it is essential that your organisation keeps up-to-date and is ready for inspection.

This workshop will focus on:

• the Education Inspection Framework and its application for Apprenticeships, Study Programmes, Traineeships and Adult Education. It will provide you with an outline of the Framework to enable you to build it into good practice within your organisation.

• the changes to inspection methodology including the reduced role of the nominee, the enhanced role of middle managers and the use of deep dives to gather evidence.

It will also give you the opportunity to connect with colleagues across the sector in order to share best practice and offer potential solutions to some of the challenges which you may be facing.

This workshop will cover:

o Current key priorities for FE and Skills providers.

o The Education Inspection Framework:

  • Quality of Education
  • Behaviour and Attitudes
  • Personal Development
  • Leadership and Management

o Areas of focus within the Education Inspection Framework will include:

  • Messages from the first inspections
  • The strong focus on curriculum – what it means in practice
  • Evidencing intent, implementation and impact
  • Use and interpretation of data
  • Understanding the terminology and language
  • Enabling a culture of excellence for learners and staff, setting high expectations and overcoming variability
  • Clear and robust Self-Assessment

o Areas of focus on the new inspection methodology will include

  • Understanding the new roles and responsibilities of the main nominee
  • Exploring the new role of middle managers in deep dives and as ‘mini-nominees’
  • Supporting staff to feel confident with deep dives
  • Demonstrating progress and challenge to learners
  • Evidence gathering and the weight of evidence in the new methodology

o Working in peer groups to address your current challenges and help you develop a strategy to overcome them.
