If you are an aspiring freelance, or are already working as a self-employed practitioner, this event is a must for learning how to tackle the latest challenges facing those who work for themselves.

Hosted by CIPR North West in partnership with the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed (IPSE), you will hear from IPSE Policy Development Manager, Jordan Marshall, about the implications of the new IR35 regulation which came into effect last May.

Media Law guru Steve Kuncewicz, a partner at Berryman Lace Mawer, will demystify the myths and reality surrounding the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into effect next year. This will change the way businesses can collect, use and transfer personal data.

Rob Morbin, the CIPR’s Head of Engagement, will talk about the importance of building and harnessing the CIPR’s 10,000-strong network through groups and events. Paul Wilkinson will introduce the CIPR's  new Independent Sector Group.

CIPR North West committee member Bridget Batty, owner of Limetree PR and PRide finalist for this year's “Outstanding Independent Practitioner” award, will share her experiences and highlight some of the pitfalls of going it alone.
