Event description
Exploring the experience of LGBTQIA+ people in STEM at the intersection of race, gender, sexual orientation and colonialism

About this event

On LGBTQ+ in STEM Day we address the experience of LGBTQIA+ people in STEM by exploring the intersection of race, gender, sexual orientation, and colonialism. This interactive webinar will feature two plenary talks by Lara Lalemi and Emeliana Palk and a Q&A panel discussion. Throughout the talk there will be an opportunity to explore practical advice and strategies for individuals who are LGBTQIA+ working/studying in STEM as well as allies. The event will be run on Zoom as a webinar, meaning you will not be able to see other members of the audience. You will still be able to ask questions through the Q&A function, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions anonymously and confidentially in advance via a separate link sent in the confirmation email.
