Never before has there been more of a focus on employee wellbeing at work: nor a greater need for this attention.
The Productivity Commission estimates that mental ill-health and suicide cost the Australian economy $70 billion each year, with $39 billion of that due to lost productivity and workforce participation.
This Mental Health Day, we’re inviting individuals to join our virtual talk Being Well at Work with Sophi Bruce, Head of Faculty, The School of Life at Work in Australia.
About the Talk
According to recent research, 67% of professionals are experiencing moderate to high levels of stress at work, and over half of us report at least moderate levels of work-related anxiety. While organisations play a critical role in promoting wellbeing, it is equally important that we each feel empowered with tools to support our own mental and emotional health.
In this virtual talk, we’ll explore wellbeing as a fluid and evolving concept, considering how our understanding of it has shifted over time. We’ll look closely at barriers to being well, and how responsibility for wellbeing is shared between individuals and the organisations they work within.
Together, we’ll examine how small, intentional adjustments can make a significant difference to how we feel day-to-day, helping us to become more grounded, resilient and fulfilled in our working lives.
The Zoom session will open at 13:00 AEDT, and will start promptly, running for 1-hour. If you are based outside Australia, please check a converter to determine what time this event starts in your local timezone.
