Description

Beka + Polly are back and ready to PARTAYY! Kicking us off this month are the awesome BETHLEHEM CASUALS!!

Bethlehem Casuals are a 7 piece ‘DIY world music’ band, featuring a collaboration of instrumentalists and sounds ranging from Welsh folk cello and Bulgarian percussion, to jazz saxophone and rock and pop. Some say it was fate, some say common interests, but the Casuals will bring heavy grooves, tribal vibes and a lot of fun to any stage!

Täpp are a fresh and alternative string loop pedal duo featuring Rebekah Reid on violin and Polly Virr on cello. Having both trained at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, they combine stringed instruments, classical practices and improvisation with electronic technology to create their own unique music. The duo boasts a distinctve sound influenced by their love of electronic dance music, jazz, classical/contemporary classical, minimalism and world music. They are passionate about bringing classical music into the modern age, and are dedicated to sharing it with all audiences. Their aim is to stimulate people’s curiosity and awaken a new movement in music! The girls perform regularly in the UK with recent performances at Gullivers NQ, The International Anthony Burgess Foundation, Aldeburgh Festival on the BBC Introducing Stage in June 2017 (featured on BBC Radio) and at the O2 Ritz Manchester with The Moods in September 2017. They run a monthly live music night at Indigo Withington in which they showcase up and coming experimental bands and solo artists. Find out more: Beka + Polly Presents...
