Event Details

The Belfast Nursing Jobs Recruitment Open Day is an initiative of the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is the biggest employer in Northern Ireland, employing more than 22,000 staff, working together to provide health and social care to the people of Belfast and Northern Ireland. We are passionate about recruiting and retaining the best people and we would love you to join our nursing team.

Our nursing recruitment open day is an exciting and unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives from our Nursing and Recruitment Teams in Belfast on Saturday 28 April 2018 from 10am to 3pm in Education Centre, Elliott Dynes, Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.

Are you a qualified nurse, newly qualified nurse, awaiting NMC registration or a student nurse due to qualify this year and interested in working in major specialties and disciplines such as Adult, Community, Acute, Paediatrics, Emergency, Mental Health, Older Persons, Theatre, Intellectual Disability and Oncology.

The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust includes the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast City Hospital, Mater Hospital, Royal Jubilee Maternity Service, Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, Musgrave Park Hospital, Forster Green Hospital and Knockbracken Healthcare Park 


What you need to know

Our nursing recruitment open day is a one-stop-shop for nurses interested in working for the Trust. You will have the opportunity to speak directly to our Nursing Team, apply for posts, be interviewed and potentially offered a job, all on the same day.

 

What you need to bring

Interviews and pre-employment checks will take place at our nursing recruitment open day and you will be required to bring your ID documents including your NMC registration as well as original documents for Access NI enhanced disclosure. Proof of your eligibility to live and work in Northern Ireland (UK) will also be required such as a valid passport or full birth certificate issued in the UK.

 

On the day of your interview please bring the information below

  1. *Up to date vaccination/screening details (see below)
  2. **Documents to prove your identity (see below)

 

*You should bring documented evidence of previous screening and vaccinations. This may be obtained from  a previous Occupational Health service ; student health or your GP. Providing this information will speed up the process.  

 

NB: If you are a current BHSCT employee you do not need to bring this information.

 

 

The following documented evidence is required :

 

·        Evidence of having had BCG vaccination or BCG scar /recent TB screening

 

·        Positive history of chicken pox or serology result which confirms this

 

·        Evidence of having had 2 MMR vaccinations or serology result which confirms history of having had rubella and measles

 

·        Evidence of HIV /Hepatitis C & Hepatitis B tests

 

·        Evidence of Hepatitis B vaccination and post vaccination serology result

 

All evidence must be legible and date stamped & signed from an OH department /student health department or the GP

 

Evidence must be sourced from within the UK/ROI. Serology results must be confirmed as ‘identified validated samples’.

 

**If successful at your interview an Access NI Enhanced Disclosure check is required. Therefore it is necessary to bring original identification (plus one copy) to prove your identity. Please see below list.

 

 ·         Photographic identification (i.e.  Passport, Driving Licence, Electoral ID Card or Citizen Card, Student ID card)

 

  •          Original documents to verify identity for Access NI Enhanced Disclosure check - one document from Group 1 and two documents from Group 2 or alternatively four documents from Group 2 (list of acceptable documents listed below).

 

 GROUP 1 – one document

Current passport (any nationality)

Original birth certificate (UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands) issue at time of birth

Biometric Residence Permit (UK)

Original long form Irish birth certificate –issued at time of registration of birth

Current driving licence (UK, ROI, Isle of Man, Channel Islands or any EU country)

Adoption certificate (UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands)

GROUP 2 – two documents

Birth certificate (UK, ROI, Isle of Man or Channel Islands) issued after time of birth

Electoral ID card (NI only)

Marriage/Civil Partnership Certificate (UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands)

EU National ID card

HM Forces ID card (UK)

Cards carrying the PASS Accreditation logo (UK and Channel Islands)

National Insurance Card or notification letter with NI number (UK)

Senior SmartPass (Translink) (NI only)

Firearms licence (UK and Channel Islands)

Current UK driving licence (old paper version)

Bank / Building Society Account Confirmation Letter

Examination certificates (16-18 year olds only)

Bank/Building Society Statement (UK or EEA)*

Mortgage statement (UK or EEA)**

Credit card statement (UK or EEA)*

Financial statement (UK)**

Utility Bill (UK or ROI)* – not mobile phone

P45/60 statement (UK and Channel Islands)**

Benefit statement (UK)*

Land and Property Services Agency rates demand (NI only)**

Addressed payslip*

Work Permit/Visa (UK) (UK Residence Permit)**.

 

*Document must be less than 3 months old

 

** Document must be issued within the last 12 months
