Is there an age restriction?

Yes . No children under 8. 8-16 yr olds must be accompanied by an adult.

What is it like in the staircase.

There are 50+ stone steps. It is a steep and narrow spural staircase. The access into the bell chamber is an awkward step across. Care is needed here. It is lit and there is a rope to hold on to. Both hands are needed. Bags can be left in the ringing chamber.

Can I go on the roof?

No. It is unsafe and it also damages the lead.

Sadly no not on this visit. But we will be arranging a separate time where you can come and have try with our trained bell ringers. Maybe you'll want to come and join us.
