Beltane Twilight | Media Liaison
Wednesday, 27 May 2015 from 16:00 to 18:00 (BST)
Beltane Twilights are informal events where members of the Beltane community share their experience of aspects of public engagement with research. University researchers and support staff, plus people from organisations which wish to work with universities, have a chance to share tips over tea and cake.
How do you get your research noticed in the news? What if the story isn't accurate? Are journalists trustworthy? Can your press office help?
Come to our twilight to hear from researchers who have done it, and perspectives from journalists and press officers, as well as sharing your own insights and experiences.
We are delighted to confirm the following speakers:
Nick Bibby, Centre on Constitutional Change, University of Edinburgh. "Maintaining a profile for research in the media".
Alan J Gow, Heriot-Watt University. "Research the Headlines and launch plans for Rewrite the Headlines".
Stephen Vass, The Conversation
Catriona Kelly, Press and Public Relations, University of Edinburgh.
