The Choir of St John the Divine

The Choir of St John the Divine has a long tradition of fine liturgical choral singing which encompasses a varied repertoire and successive Directors of Music have built and maintained a high standard of musicianship. As well as the usual pattern of services at St John’s the Choir also sings regularly at cathedrals up and down the land. Recent visits have included Chichester cathedral, Bath Abbey and Westminster Abbey where they have been invited back to sing for services in April and August 2018. In May 2016 the Choir sang for Capitular Mass on Trinity Sunday at St Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

St John the Divine Children’s Choirs and Consort

Founded almost five years ago the Boy’s and Girls’ choirs have grown and developed under the enthusiastic direction of Benjamin Vonberg-Clark. Singing regularly for services at St John’s they also undertake outside engagements and these have included a performance of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem, singing with the professional choir Tenebrae, and most recently, singing live on the Radio 2 Chris Evans show. The recently formed Consort is a choir for older children of secondary school age. The Consort sings at services on its own but also alongside the Choir of adult voices from time. A residential trip to Walsingham is planned for February 2018.

St. Nicolas will be sung by Ben Vonberg-Clark (www.benjaminrdclark.co.uk)
