About this event

Explore bereavement, grief, and loss and how to support those experiencing loss, especially as we approach the holiday season.

This 'Bereavement, Grief, and Loss: Supporting Yourself and Others' training session is back by popular demand. It booked up pretty quickly the last time, so if you or your colleagues were one of the people asking for this to be re-run, then book now to avoid disappointment!
Join us for this interactive online session to raise awareness and knowledge about how to have sensitive conversations around grief and loss, how to support those we come in contact with, and what support there is.

The experience of grief is different for everyone, and although grief occurs after death, there are also many other life events that involve loss and cause feelings of grief, affecting a person's physical and mental health. Grief and loss is hard at any time of year, but especially as the holiday season approaches, this can be particularly challenging. The session will provide you with opportunities to reflect and consider tools and methods for supporting yourself and others through these challenges.

Malcolm Gill from St. Christopher's will explore, and bring awareness and knowledge to our communities about how to have sensitive conversations and support those we come in contact with.

To complete the session and further your knowledge, local 'Bereavement Support Groups' will give brief service updates on the services they offer and how to access them.

This training is part of the One Croydon Training programme, which is for Croydon's frontline workforce (statutory, health, and voluntary sector) colleagues, but this session may be of particular interest to those supporting food banks, the elderly, refugees, the unemployed, or as a volunteer or befriender.
