About the Workshop:

Grief can be an intensely painful emotional journey, depriving people of a loved and valued person from their life. It is particularly common for people to get stuck in a state of intense emotional grief compounded by the fact they may have lost the very attachment figure to whom they would usually turn to at times of stress and difficulty.

This workshop invites an exploration of a wide range of relationship losses and the impact of these occurring in the lives of our clients.

Learning will focus on the affect of losses occurring through separation and divorce of parents as well as loss/death occurring through trauma, drug and alcohol, accident, illness, or suicide. Consideration will also be given to both the subtle and more obvious impacts of relationship loss and separation through adoption processes, imprisonment and military service.

In addition to thinking through various models of grief processing, this training will also examine important attachment and loss insights from the field of affective neuroscience, which support newer thinking about the roots of panic/grief disorders including alternative ways to approach therapeutic treatment in supporting people facing loss.
