Berry basket weaving workshop
Create your very own berry basket using traditional weaving techniques. Learn about different types of willow, how they are grown and processed, and the tools you need for basket weaving.
During the day you will learn and practise a variety of different weaves. You will construct a small round base using a pairing weave, followed by waling, and a choice of side weaves including French or English randing, zig zag and slewing. Top it off with a woven border and a bow handle and leave with a beautiful little berry basket, ready for your autumn foraging! This event is perfect for beginners and seasoned weavers alike.
All materials are included in the course price and tools will be provided.
Throughout the day refreshments will be provided including a delicious lunch. Please arrive in time to start promptly to ensure you have time to finish your basket.
