About this event

Community • Heritage

Fishing for salmon, sea trout, herring, crab, lobsters and even whales has played an important part in Berwick’s economy for thousands of years. This walk, led by members of Berwick Slow Food will explore key aspects of Berwick’s Fishy Heritage from the Middle Ages. You will see the buildings used for the trade, hear about how fish were packed for transport across the country and admire the views across the river shaped by fishing activities over the centuries.
