Description
We are excited to bring our renowned Science Slam to Birmingham for #BES2018!
**Please note the 2018 Science Slam has now sold out! You can add your name to the waiting list by selecting tickets and will be contacted if any spaces become available.**
Fusing theatre and cutting edge research, the Science Slam brings scientists onto centre stage to showcase their passion for ecology in exciting and unconventional ways. In past years we’ve seen alien strippers, singing frogs, and chocolate cake caterpillars take to the stage - but what will be the next big thing?
We're delighted to also announce comedian, Ivo Graham, will be performing and acting as our compere!
"With a gauche charm and crafty, self-aware wit Ivo has proved a hit on Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, and Comedy Central At The Comedy Store. The youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe, Ivo is a regular writer on Fighting Talk and The Last Leg, and has enjoyed sell-out show runs at Edinburgh and London’s Soho Theatre."
The Science Slam will be held in Birmingham's leading independent live music venue and canalside pub, The Flapper. Come and join us for the exciting and always hilarious jewel in the Annual Meeting social calendar.
- The event will be seated in majority, but please arrive promptly to avoid disappointment if only standing space is available.
- A full bar is available, but please make sure to eat before arriving at the venue.
- This is a very popular event, so make sure to get your tickets early to avoid disappointment. No tickets will be available on the door.
- This is a fringe event of the British Ecological Society's 2018 Annual Meeting - tickets are open to both delegates and members of the public.
- Accessibility information: If you require disabled access, please get in contact with Chris before buying tickets to learn more about the accessibility of the venue.
