About this Event

Presented by Courage Noble...

Bess Atwell

Best described as a 'gifted singer - songwriter with a voice like slow, cool water' Bess Atwell garnered the attention of major news outlets after a slew of showcases for the Great escape festival.

After Atwell's solo performances progressed, her solo project has evolved into a full band, rich with their four part vocal, fulfilling her desire for a more dynamic live show that involve traces of traditional folk music, but also a new influence of indie rock. Two of Bess Atwell's later 2018 releases (Swimming Pool and Grace) were playlisted by BBC radio 6.

Callum Pitt

Taking influences from The War On Drugs, Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes, indie-folk newcomer Callum Pitt combines finger-picked folk riffs with a stunning falsetto voice. His debut track, “You’d Better Sell It While You Can”, received airplay from BBC

Introducing and Amazing Radio, as well as gathering widespread blog coverage from the likes of Crack In The Road, DIY and The Tipping Point, resulting in a place on one of Spotify UK’s ‘Fresh Finds’ playlists, a slot at Evolution Emerging 2017, and tour support slots with Meadowlark, Cape Cub and Isaac Gracie. Follow up tracks 'Least He's Happy' and 'Rabbits' received yet more coverage, making Spotify's coveted "New Music Friday" playlist in a number of countries, and saw Callum receive his first BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music plays.

Gabriel Gifford

Bristol-based beat maker and more; Gabriel Gifford, formerly Allergy Kid, moves with deft capability between genres to produce something different – an eclectic blend of jazzy undertones and swung drums, taking sinister turns to darker, electronic avenues; coupled with pervading African and psychedelic influences like that of William Onyeabor and Tame Impala. Having worked with High Priest Cabrakan under hip hop duo Cabrakid, Gabriel has secured Radio 1 plays and 1Xtra track of the week through the emergence of collaborations with the soulful Maya Law in early 2016.
