In light of the Coronavirus, Covid-19 public health issue, we have taken the decision to postpone the Best Employers Eastern Region 2020 launch conference on 18th March. We plan to rearrange as soon as it is advisable to do so and will carry forward your ticket to the future event.
Employee engagement is all about looking after our people and we want to do what we can to protect you and your teams.

About the speakers
David Smith
David Smith has 35 year's corporate experience of change management, the last 15 years of which were spent in the turnaround of the Asda Retail Business. At Asda, David was People, IT and Loss Prevention Director and on the Executive Board for 10 years. David and his team led many of the changes which created a highly productive performance-based culture and laid the foundations for commercial success.
Today, David is a highly respected Author, Business Speaker and Consultant. He is also frequently requested to Mentor/Coach CEOs, HRDs and other Board Directors, utilising his experience of Executive responsibility in a fast-moving commercial environment. He is Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Employment Studies.
Andy Wood, CEO Adnams
In this presentation, Andy Wood will talk about how Best Employers has been delivered at Adnams, what they have learned about their people and their organisation. He will share how they encouraged participation and what they did with their results.
Andy Wood joined Adnams in the mid 1990s with responsibility for developing its customer service and supply chain operations. He joined the Board in 2000 as Sales and Marketing Director becoming Managing Director in 2006 and Chief Executive in 2010. Andy has an MBA, a doctorate from Cranfield University and Honorary doctorates; in Business from Anglia Ruskin University, in Science from Cranfield University and Civil Law from the University of East Anglia. He was also awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2013 and is HRH The Prince of Wales’ Ambassador for Responsible business in the East of England. In 2018 Andy was awarded the First Special Award for Environmental Responsibility as part of a House of Lord's presentation on Responsible Capitalism.
