Event description

Description

SIX TOP CHEFS. SIX EXCEPTIONAL COURSES. ONE GREAT CAUSE.

The Manchester Food and Drink Awards are the most sought-after and prestigious in the North West.

On 1st October 2019, for one night only, the shortlisted chefs are joining forces with an exclusive six-course meal:

  • Simon Martin (Mana)
  • Aiden Byrne (Restaurant MCR)
  • Sam Buckley (Where The Light Gets In)
  • Miquel Villacrosa (Tast Catala)
  • Omar Rodriguez Marrero (Umezushi)
  • Adam Reid (Adam Reid at The French)

This is your chance to book one of only 50 tickets for this exclusive, bespoke tasting menu cooked by the region's most talented and renowned culinary front-runners.

The stellar line up kicks off with Sam Buckley of Where The Light Gets In creating a selection of snacks based on his trademark sustainable, no-choice dining experience.

Aiden Byrne, who made history as the youngest person ever to earn a Michelin star at the age of 22 in 2002, and opened Restaurant MCR earlier this year, will be taking on starter.

Miquel Villacrosa, of host restaurant Tast Catala and trained under 5 Michelin star Exec Chef Paco Peréz, will take care of the typically Catalan rice course.

It would be almost rude to not ask Omar Rodrigues Marrero to create a spectacular fish course given that it is Umezushi's speciality.

Noma-trained chef Simon Martin will bring the fun, high-energy, exciting environment that Mana is best known for to his meat course. Mana has been one of the most-talked-about restaurants in the past year, was the only Manchester restaurant to make the Top 100 at the Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards and is hotly tipped for a Michelin star.

Last but by no means least is Great British Menu winner Adam Reid on desserts. Having taken his dessert to the banquet of the Great British Menu in 2016, before becoming chef patron at Adam Reid at The French, you will be in very good hands.

There will also be the chance to bid on some money-can't-buy foodie experiences from some of the evening's chefs.

Early-bird tickets for this one-off feast are priced at £90, with all proceeds going to humanitarian organisation Action Against Hunger, who carry out life-saving work in almost 50 countries worldwide, helping malnourished children through lifesaving programmes in nutrition, food security, water, sanitation and hygiene.
