Best practice in the quality assurance for the new Appreniceship Stnadards (England)


This one day CPD event is full of engaging activities which will allow those attending to reflect on their current quality assurance practices in apprenticeship delivery and highlight areas of further development in their strategies when working with employers and apprentices.

The event is aimed at anyone delivering the new apprenticeship standards in England and who has a quality assurance role and/or related responsibilities. Vice Principals, Directors, Quality Managers, Apprenticeship Managers, IQAs, Assessors/trainers are all welcome to attend.

Aim of event;

To explore best practice in the quality assurance of the new apprenticeship standards.

Objectives and focus for the day;

  • To reflect on and explore delegates CPD needs in the quality assurance of new apprenticeships standards
  • To unpack the principles of good quality assurance in apprenticeships – what are the benchmarks and how do you compare?
  • To clarify current Ofsted judgments in respect of teaching leaning and assessment – how effective is your delivery of 20% off the job training and how is this being quality assured?
  • To look at methods of embedding maths and English across your apprenticeship delivery – is this being developed with employers?
  • To discuss the quality assurance of apprenticeship standards with or without a mandatory vocational qualification - what are the challenges for assessors/trainers and the role of the IQA?
  • Revision planning for apprentices pre EPA – when, where and how – what support do employers, assessors and trainers require in this process?
  • What does quality assurance of the new standards mean to employers? How is this explained and how are they involved?
  • How are City & Guilds quality assured re EPA/EPA roles and responsibilities
  • Training – development plans moving forward – your next steps?

Parking - parking is available at the venue

Refreshments - refreshments and lunch will be provided - if you have dietary requirements then please email advance@cityandguilds.com

Resources - you will be provided with a handbook on the day. Certificates and a digital copy of the handbook will be emailed out after the event

How do I pay? - If you are a registered City and Guilds Centre you may opt to pay on account under your usual credit terms by changing the payment method on the order form to 'pay by invoice' and providing the centre number when prompted. Any attendees who do not have a City and Guilds account will need to pay online using a credit card or debit card.

What's the refund policy?

Tickets can be refunded up to 7 days before the event

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, but if your name is not on the register you may need proof of purchase

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes as long as we have been informed as this will affect the register and certificate
