About this event

Join our webinar to find out how the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) is being updated for 2020/21. A new Social Care view is being introduced and as part of this comes the ability to publish at Approaching Standards as well as Standards Met. It will no longer be possible to publish at Entry Level.

As a Better Security, Better Care Local Support Partner, we will be supporting care providers in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to complete the Toolkit.

This webinar will tell you about these Toolkit changes and what you need to do next.

Have you registered on the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), but not yet published? Have you published at Entry Level?

By using the toolkit on an annual basis and reaching Standards Met you will be able to:

  • Reassure people who use services, their families and your staff that you are managing their information safely. Most people expect you to share information with others who support them – but you must do this securely and legally
  • Answer the Care Quality Commission’s Key Line of Enquiry questions about how you manage data securely (see KLOE W.2.8)
  • Demonstrate that you meet legal requirements including Data Protection Legislation and the Data Security Standards
  • Access key services such as NHSmail and shared care records.

This session is open to ALL care and support providers in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Do not worry if you are at the start of your digital security journey, we have support on offer for every level.

Organiser CAHSC Learning Partnership (Cornwall Adult Health & Social Care Learning Partnership)

Organiser of Better Security, Better Care - Registration & Introduction

CAHSC – Cornwall Adult Health & Social Care Learning Partnership –

We are a small team of people who really care about learning and development within Health and Social Care in Cornwall, based at the Tremough Innovation Centre at Penryn.

CAHSC is an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) formed by members committed to the development of the adult health & social care workforce in Cornwall. CAHSC's main function is to access and deliver funding for adult social care workforce training.

We believe that a skilled and trained workforce leads to excellence in the delivery of those services and in the experiences of those who receive the service

We hold regular Outstanding Care Forums where current topics are addressed and discussed followed by lunch whereby managers have an opportunity to network with like-minded people.
