Event description
IHS and Newcastle Law School will be hosting a joint conference on health inequalities and human rights.

About this Event

The Institute of Health and Society and the Law School at Newcastle University are hosting a conference on health inequalities and human rights on 25th April 2019 in Newcastle upon Tyne. After years of austerity and in a climate of uncertainty, it is now more necessary than ever to examine the link between human rights and the social justice agenda. This conference aims to explore four social rights issues at the core of Beveridge’s five giants in the context of today's society including food, housing, social security and long term care. The conference is aimed at academics, public health professionals, local government, policy makers and human rights practitioners.
