Bewdley Heritage Trail + Steam Train Ride
Overview
Step into the charm of riverside Worcestershire with the Bewdley Heritage Trail, a gentle half-day adventure that combines history, nature, and the romance of steam travel.
We begin in the picturesque Georgian town of Bewdley, with its colourful waterfront houses and cobbled High Street leading down to the River Severn. From here, our trail follows the west bank of the river — a peaceful, meandering path lined with willows, old stone bridges, and glimpses of the Severn Valley Railway puffing alongside.
The route gently winds upstream to the village of Arley, where time seems to slow even further. We pause to explore the charming station, enjoy a riverside rest or café stop, and then board a heritage steam train for the return journey to Bewdley — a delightful ride through green valleys and golden light.
