Beyond Box Ticking - Children's participation as a form of governance
"I have been shocked to discover how many officials have never met any of the children they are responsible for.." Annie Longfield, Former Children's Commissioner, England
Every day adults sit down to discuss and solve the challenges faced by children, without ever speaking to them. Beyond Box Ticking draws on Clowns Without Borders UK's experience of establishing a children's board as a credible and vital part of their governance.
This one hour information session explores:
- How organisationscan include children at the highest levels of decision-making?
- Barriers to meaningful child-driven decision-making for organisations and how can these be overcome?
- How organisations can turn meaningful engagement into policy and action?
