Event description

Description

In 2017 we saw a flurry of activity around the corporate reporting of climate-related risk and opportunities. We saw the world’s first litigation case on climate disclosure, between the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and its shareholders, and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority declaring that "some climate risks are distinctly ‘financial’ in nature. Many of these risks are foreseeable, material and actionable now,". This is crowned by the release of the final TCFD recommendations report in June, which has planted the issue firmly on the doorstep of corporate executives globally.

Join CDSB and KPMG for this morning workshop on corporate climate risk in Australia, where we will explore these latest developments in the climate disclosure landscape, and practical approaches to incorporating the TCFD recommendations into your reporting process.

Speakers:
Mardi McBrien, CDSB: the benefits and practicalities of implementing the recommendations within your company

Adrian King, KPMG: how to develop your TCFD disclosures in 3 easy steps

Sarah Barker, Minter Ellison: an overview of the current regulatory and legal situation relating to the requirements of the recommendations
