As the COVID-19 pandemic has shown, meaningful societal change often happens as a reaction to disruptive events. But to create a sustainable society, we can no longer wait for the next crisis to change the way we live, work and operate.
This interactive workshop will explore how individuals and organisations can anticipate shocks, design for resilience, and thrive in uncertainty. The session will be run by design and social innovation practitioners Beatrice Bekar and Nicole Afonso Alves Calistri.
About the Speakers:
- Beatrice Bekar is a design and social innovation practitioner who explores how creativity and adult learning can help achieve an inclusive and sustainable future. She led Nesta’s major training and research programme across Europe, FutureFit, and is the co-author of Make It FutureFit: Four ways to design better adult learning experiences
- Nicole Afonso Alves Calistri is a creative planner and researcher, currently working with award winning agency Umbrellium, Bright Harbour Collective and Current Works. She has facilitated workshops and conducted talks on the subject for Extinction Rebellion, Culture Declares, and Greenpeace
