About this event
The Association for Art History is collaborating with Magic Lantern for the third virtual workshop in our series on how to incorporate art history into the primary curriculum. We will build on ideas discussed in the previous sessions although this workshop is stand-alone and does not rely on prior participation.Focusing on the theme of Nature, the workshop will centre on a case study of Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s 1565 painting, Hunters in the Snow.We will investigate the wealth of ideas and associations it generates including Weather, Seasons, Climate Change, Animals and Landscape, and how the artwork might be used as the catalyst for a cross-curricular exploration of Nature with KS1 & 2 students.
About Magic Lantern

Our interactive and inclusive classroom-based workshops complement the entire school curriculum, give children the opportunity to explore, discuss and bring to life famous artworks and help them develop a range of skills. We can help schools prepare for gallery visits and art weeks and are an official Artsmark Partner.
