Event Details

Following the success of #BeyondBIM2019: Innovations in Geometry and Collaboration, Desktop Engineering is hosting #BeyondBIM2020: ‘A Vision for the Future’ AEC symposium in London on 17 March 2020.

Building Information Management (BIM) is well established as a technology and process to improve the collaboration and design of buildings. Whilst architects and engineers are engaged in working with this approach, the need for construction to be engaged early in the design process is paramount. Decisions made in design can have a profound affect on cost and constructability.

#BeyondBIM2020 aims to showcase examples and provoke discussion on how to improve collaboration across the design and construction community. Current speakers include John Cerone, Director of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) of SHoP Architects; Dale Sinclair, Director of Technical Practice at AECOM; Marty Rozmanith, Director AEC of Dassault Systèmes; Stefano Guanziroli, Director of engineering consultants IDeCOM; Ben Haldin, Managing Director of Fulcro Engineering; Mattia Santi, Co-founder and Director of SaSi Studio; and Michail Desyllas, Co-founder of Ai-Build.

A panel discussion and Q&A session chaired by Harry Ibbs, Europe Design Technology Director: Gensler will wrap up the days' events.

A limited seat training session on Dassault Systèmes xGenerative Design* software will take place on 18th March - separate registration will be required >>

(*Geometry is created and driven through a graphical interface and the application is part of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform – collaborative platform for creating, sharing and managing design and construction information.)
