All About My Mother
Duration: 101 minutes
Rating: 15
To celebrate one of melodrama’s greatest contemporary masters, Theatreship will screen a mini-series of key works by the legendary Pedro Almodóvar - “All About Almodóvar”. And this evening is dedicated to quintessential Almodóvar melodrama, All About My Mother (1999).
A powerful and deeply moving tribute to motherhood, cinema, and female solidarity, this film follows a heartbreaking tragedy and a mother's quest to find her late son's transgender father. Along the way, she forms a new, unconventional "family" with a series of vibrant and extraordinary women. The film, is a dizzying whirlwind of passion and chance, celebrating the resilience of the human spirit.
The screening will be paired with a live performance (to be announced!) channeling the film's passion and intensity…
